“At a recent anime convention I saw someone who did a homestuck costume, but they were wearing Mary Magdalene. Now as much as I dislike cosplay being mixed with lolita, I probably would’ve just rolled my eyes if it weren’t for the fact the girl was in FULL GREY PAINT! I noticed it rubbing off on the collar of the dress and just about died. Why would you do that in such an expensive dress?!”
Oh my God…
dude its their money. they bought the dress and the paint with their money and they can decide what to do with it
+ if the paint was water based, it doesnt actually stain (i know this from experience)

"Hi guys! I have a dilemma and I’d really like some advice from you, or your followers, or just… anyone somewhat willing to help. Okay see the thing is that I already made a confession here before saying I think I’d feel prettier in my dresses if I was born a boy. Maybe you remember that one? Well since I sent in that confession I explored myself more and I have come to discover and truly know that I’m gender fluid. Meaning, sometimes I identify as a girl and sometimes I identify as a boy. I don’t have mpd or anything… it’s still always me and it’s hard to explain but let’s call the two identities Eliott and Renee. (the easiest way I’ve described it to my friends is that if I could magically switch between being a boy or a girl at will, I would.) My problem, and what I really need help with, is that as Renee I want to be identified as a girl when I’m wearing casual clothes- jeans, t-shirt, all that stuff. While as Eliott I want to be identified as a boy… when I’m wearing Lolita. Does that make any sense at all? Even though I’m biologically a girl, when I’m in Lolita I want to be recognized as a boy. And it just so happens that I have a very feminine face and I’m really short. Doesn’t help. Aaaand boobs. I was thinking of getting a binder to wear and buying all my new dresses with the smallest busts possible but that will only do so much… does anybody have/know of A) Any tips on looking more masculine even though I’d be wearing such girly clothing, and B) Anyone else with a problem similar to this, whether it be for Lolita or just another Gender Fluid person who has trouble being identified properly when they want to? Any information would be highly appreciated by both my identities (since Renee has no interest in Lolita and Eliott would love to be properly identified).
(And I’m sorry for asking you guys but you’re super sweet and I’ve tried asking other people who typically answer questions but haven’t gotten any answers…)”

I sincerely apologize for the delay (to say the least), but I would be more than happy to attempt to assist you in any way that I can. I published this Ask as a Anonymous Submission so that if anyone has any further advice or input, as requested, they can directly contribute so by reblogging. Moving on: I’m not entirely foreign to the concept of being gender fluid, and can see where it may be hard to explain it to someone who isn’t familiar with, or open to alternative or non-traditional gender identities. That said, it was to my understanding that the identities of ‘Eliott’ and ‘Renee’ more closely resemble, like you stated, Multiple Personality Disorder or even that of Bigender. Whereas you, being gender fluid, simultaneously embody both identities at once without a internal need to differentiate the two as male or female; so the above is a slightly different concept than what I had originally thought I knew. Still, I find myself at a loss when it comes to giving you any real advice in this matter. I would think that any real physical alterations would inevitably compromise the identity of Renee. Binding definitely presents itself as a very good place to start, since it’s temporary, but still effective. I’d also suggest toning your muscles, because it would make your body appear more masculine while in Lolita, but not really take away from your femininity outside of Lolita. The last thing that I would suggest, is either looking into shorter wigs, or actually styling your own hair with a shorter cut.
Like suggested by the above photo, shorter cuts can look very feminine and beautiful. Still, the edgier frame may just assist you in obtaining that slightly masculine look you’re seeking. I know it wasn’t much help, but I wish you luck and hope this process was remotely worth it!♪ ~Admin ケ－キ (kēki)
meep meep, no you’re right, Bigender is the word I was looking for. I wrote this all just before bed (as I’m doing right now- I need to stop this.) @@ I can assure you it’s not MPD (got that checked out. First thing I did). I write the two separate gender identities with two names to make it… make more sense to people.
And you’re right on the physical alterations part! I wouldn’t want to get surgeries or anything because that would be like, hurting my female identity. But the toning the muscles thing? I didn’t even think about that! (I’ve gone about trying to flatten my stomach, but no more toning than that) That wouldn’t even be that hard if I really put my mind to it.
And those wigs are so adorable I just might cry ;A; I typically buy my wigs from GLW and those are all overwhelmingly feminine… but the ones you put as examples actually look androgynous enough and are really pretty… and adorable.
So you were actually a whole lot of help! I’m so grateful that you took the time and put thought into it like you have ;w; A lot of other people haven’t been too… nice when I’ve asked questions like this or even just tried to explain the bigender thing.
ME TOO SO MUCH I AM GENDER FLUID AND EVERYTHING
anyway i think you can only do so much when you’re wearing something that will obviously accentuate feminine traits…
try to get things that don’t draw attention to your waist or any sort of “curvy” areas if you can. I think it’s Mary Magadelene that does a lot of very straight cut stuff so that should hide your waist and chest
And then try makeup. It can actually do a lot especially if you have a feminine face. Contour your cheekbones and jaw, and make your eyebrows look a little darker. There’s lots of tutorials about that there
Other than that then a lot of it is in stuff like your walk and how you carry yourself. There’s lots of guides out there if you look up “how to pass as male” and the like
I’d actually go for cutting your hair short rather than just using a wig. Wigs are a lot easier to put on when you have short hair, and if your wearing lolita when trying to present as male then there’s a chance you’ll already be very warm, so not wearing a wig is just a layer removed.
and if you’re at a meetup then don’t be afraid to tell people you’re actually male!!! a lot of people will accidentally misgender you which is sad but dont be discouraged!!
